The Student Slate - 2014 Issues

The Student Slate is published quarterly and contains articles of interest to blind students. Topics range from stories about interesting things blind students have done, to tips about surviving college, and articles about National Association of Blind Students and National Federation of the Blind Events. Introduction

Now that your all packed for the 74th annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind , have made it through the long security lines at the airport, on to the airplane and in to the air, it’s time to put your seat back, munch on some pretzels, and read our convention edition of the Student Slate. NFB Scholarship Program

In the summer of 2013, I had the honor of attending my first NFB National Convention as one of thirty national scholarship finalists.
At first, I felt lost; The Rosen Centre Hotel, packed convention agenda, my responsibilities as a scholarship winner. And there was I, in the middle of everything, trying to soak in each and every ounce of all that was available to me.
